Game Designer and recent TED 2010 presenter Jane McGonigal believes that we can change the world through game design and gaming and she is putting that theory to the test with the game called EVOKE. EVOKE is an online game (developed by the World Bank Institute) designed to teach digital natives collaboration, creativity, knowledge networking, entrepreneurship, courage, resourcefulness, sustainability, and vision.
The designers behind the games goal is simple, empower young people all over the world, and especially in Africa, to start tackling the world’s toughest problems: poverty, hunger, sustainable energy, water security, conflict, disaster relief, health care, education, human rights.
EVOKE is free to play, and open to anyone, anywhere in the world. It launches on March 3, 2010 and concludes on May 12, 2010. Registration for the EVOKE game is open until March 2, 2010, so reserve your spot ASAP. To register click here.
